Job Title: Linux Support Specialist

 

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Support Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our IMS Banking team, you will be responsible for providing level 2 support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide level 2 support for Linux in a high availability environment.
  • Evaluate and implement solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain performance, security, and reliability; participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning drills.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate vendor technical assistance cases, firmware/patch planning, and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.

 

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Linux support or 10+ years of experience in Linux engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as RHCE, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or similar preferred.
