Senior Enterprise Mainframe Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Enterprise Mainframe Developer to join our team. As a key member of our IT organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex enterprise-level IBM Mainframe applications.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual with a strong background in Mainframe technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and Batch Processing, as well as excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications on IBM Mainframe (z/OS)
  • Write, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing
  • Work extensively with DB2, IMS, and VSAM for data storage and retrieval
  • Develop and maintain CICS transaction processing applications
  • Perform code reviews, performance tuning, and system optimizations
  • Develop and implement mainframe modernization strategies, including integration with distributed systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide production support, including incident management, root cause analysis, and bug fixes
  • Lead and mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Mainframe development
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and Batch Processing
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
