Principal Medical Writer Role Summary

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and elevating patient outcomes through agile medical communications. Your expertise will help bridge the gaps between research, decision-making, and real-world healthcare impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials, including MSL/training slide decks, infographics, congress materials, literature searches, standard response letters, and HCP engagement content according to client and audience needs with excellent attention to detail.
  • Review and supervise deliverables from junior writers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Mentor and train junior writers by sharing best practices and client preferences.
  • Develop and execute digital medical communications initiatives, including publication extenders, creation of infographics, interactive assets, website content, patient narratives, and medical information engagement plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on digital solutions for Medical Affairs clients.

You will be responsible for creating visual content and innovative solutions that meet client requirements and SOPs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • PhD/MD in medicine, life sciences, health sciences, pharmacy, or pharmacology; MPharm/MSc with a good understanding of clinical research and medical communication.
  • 7-10 years of experience in writing and reviewing Scientific/Medical Communications for Medical Affairs or biopharma, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Clear, concise scientific writing skills with strong attention to detail and language skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret, evaluate, and present scientific data clearly and concisely.
  • Good understanding of biostatistics, MS Office, and literature review.

Additional qualifications include experience in organizing and contributing to congresses and advisory board meetings, as well as effective leadership and mentoring skills, along with high organizational and accountability skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
