Job Title: CMDB Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the configuration management database (CMDB) and ensure its accuracy, completeness, and integrity. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in external data source integrations, ITOM discovery, OT Module, and a solid understanding of ServiceNow.

This role works closely with the IT ServiceNow System Admin and all process owners within IT. In addition, the consultant should be experienced in stakeholder management to gather, analyze, and launch requirements related to ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB/Asset areas.

The CMDB Technical Analyst is responsible for administering and executing the configuration management changes, ensuring CMDB data robustness and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of CMDB data by identifying and resolving data inconsistencies.
  • Establish relationships between CIs to accurately reflect dependencies within the IT infrastructure.
  • Perform data cleansing and deduplication activities.
  • Manage the CMDB module, improving data representation accuracy.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators for CMDB health.
  • Configure and manage data discovery tools to automatically populate the CMDB with information from various IT systems.
  • Integrate CMDB data with other ServiceNow modules like Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
  • MAPPING data from external systems to the CMDB schema.
  • Define data quality standards and metrics for the CMDB.
  • Establish data ownership and accountability across different teams.
  • Implement data validation processes to ensure data integrity.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work with IT teams to ensure accurate and timely updates to the CMDB.
  • Strong alignment with architect and engineering teams on delivery standards.
  • Provide training on ITOM discovery, OT Module, and ServiceNow best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or Engineering
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB | CSDM, Discovery & Service Mapping
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and components (servers, networks, applications)
  • Experience defining, documenting, and implementing CMDB governance processes and procedures
  • Experience defining, documenting, and implementing CI Data audits
  • Experience managing CI data in a ServiceNow CMDB
  • Experience creating CI Data Health reports, identifying, and resolving CI data gaps
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to the CMDB
  • Agile Methodology experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • ITIL certified
  • Strong experience of ITIL processes
  • Certified ServiceNow Admin (CSA) | CMDB Fundamentals | ITOM Discovery Implementation | CSDM Fundamental
