Parexel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Director, Global Therapeutic Head, Allergy to lead our Global Medical Services (GMS) organizational model/structure. This position will report to the Senior Vice President, Global Therapeutic Head, Rheumatology & Immunology.

The ideal candidate will provide medical and scientific leadership both internally and externally with clients in support of overall company objectives. This includes delivering medical and scientific expertise to clients and colleagues from other departments in the areas of business development, study design/optimization, and overall development strategies.

The Senior Medical Director, Global Therapeutic Area Medical Head, Allergy will be responsible for providing guidance on medical and scientific expertise, lessons learned from projects or opportunities, and innovations or scientific developments in Allergy. This individual will also provide oversight in other therapeutic areas which may be included in their span of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven expertise in clinical drug development at a senior level position, in the CRO and/or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior academic/clinical patient care experience within the Allergy therapeutic area
  • Experience in clinical research, as an investigator or sub-investigator; laboratory research in Allergy related topics preferred but not mandatory
  • Publications in peer-reviewed literature on Allergy related topics
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to easily build respect and gain the confidence of stakeholders
  • Active listening skills with a focus on understanding specific client challenges
  • Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to convey complex medical concepts with clarity and understanding to a diverse audience
  • High degree of understanding of client needs, with a client focused approach to work
  • Experience in related regulatory requirements and guidelines directing drug development
  • Proven ability to work well with small teams, often under significant time constraints
  • Established presentation/teaching skills
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and varied simultaneous tasks, with enthusiasm and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and address challenges and issues proactively in a timely manner
  • Broad understanding of how to utilize lessons learned from earlier projects with an ability to apply and share this experience to obviate, correct or minimize related problems in new projects
  • Willingness to take accountability for all assigned activities, with focus on timelines and quality
  • Maintain continuing medical education and an active role in the medical/scientific professional community through attendance at meetings and conferences, presentations or publications
  • Membership and/or in relationships in relevant medical/scientific societies, academic institutions, and other related organizations
  • Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills

Education

MD degree from an accredited Medical School, with Board Certification and/or equivalent subspecialty training in the Allergy
