Market Risk Average Daily Traded Volume Data Analyst Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Mumbai. The Market Risk ADTV Data Analysis mission is to ensure accurate Average Daily Traded Volume (ADTV) data for in-house Gross Market Concentration (GMC) risk and Strategic Stress liquidity add-on calculations.

GMC is a framework used by the firm's Credit Officers to approve trades and manage concentrated positions at the counterparty level versus the size of the traded market measured by ADTV. Our team collaborates with internal stakeholders to rectify any data quality issues promptly, enabling accurate risk computation.

The role involves closely working with colleagues across New York, London, and India, focusing on improving the overall quality of market data time series and developing business solutions for risk management in Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and verify ADTV time series data for concentration risk and liquidity add-on calculations across various asset classes;
  • Identify spurious data such as spikes and gaps, and liaise with stakeholders for corrective action;
  • Interpret data, analyze results, and summarize complex information into actionable insights for decision-makers;
  • Define data quality metrics and produce periodic KPI reports distributed to stakeholders, control functions, and senior management;
  • Onboard new ADTV sources to ensure accurate risk measurement;
  • Participate in projects related to control issues/enhancements for ADTV data quality, accuracy, and completeness;
  • Partner with Technology teams to provide requirements for data sourcing and remediation projects, ensuring alignment with expectations;
  • Oversee periodic audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in STEM, Finance, or relevant fields; knowledge of market risk concepts and financial products across asset classes;
  • Experience in performing statistical analysis on large datasets;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, using advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc., and a robust control mindset to identify gaps in data production and control processes;
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems independently in a deadline-oriented environment;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills; proficiency in technical and procedural documentation;
  • Enthusiasm for knowledge sharing and ability to collaborate effectively.
