Job Title: Merchant Risk Specialist

  • Review transactions across various channels, including UPI, POS, and payment gateways, to detect anomalies and potential fraudulent activity.
  • Analyze merchant behavior to identify high-risk merchants and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Verify documents received from merchants in the event of escalations or fraud observations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate critical findings and insights to stakeholders across the organization, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Prioritize the development of new rules for merchant monitoring based on identified patterns and trends, continuously improving risk management practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging fraud trends and methodologies in the industry, leveraging this knowledge to prevent merchant-related fraud.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to obtain necessary data and support the preparation of actionable reports and analysis.
  • Take the lead in discussions with stakeholders to identify new requirements and opportunities for enhanced surveillance and control measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis, with a strong understanding of merchant acquiring and payment aggregator business models.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, with expertise in filters, pivot tables, charts, and lookup functions.
  • Familiarity with SQL programming is an asset.
  • An educational background in Engineering, Statistics, or Econometrics is preferred but not required.
