Procurement Professional

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Professional to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Chennai for a Procurement Data Analyst supporting an overseas Mining Client.

The position leads and executes Category Management activities in line with specified guidelines and business requirements to ensure surety of supply and minimum Supply risk for the business.

  • The successful candidate will develop and execute sourcing activities contributing to the Business/Sites/Local/Project Supply Sourcing Plan.
  • Commercial ownership of all spends for all areas of Clientele will be their responsibility.
  • They will plan and execute a portfolio of sourcing projects enabling category strategies and manage on-time delivery minimizing disruption to the business operations.
  • Effective relationships with internal business leaders will be built to understand business requirements, forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective.
  • A collaborative relationship with suppliers will be developed to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives.
  • Key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) will be collected and analyzed to build robust category and sourcing strategies mid to long-term.
  • The application of procedures for issuing and evaluating tenders will be validated.
  • Commercial negotiations with Suppliers will be led, review contract award recommendations and contracts for approval.
  • Cross-functional team members will be advised and mentored to ensure delivery against performance targets.
  • Vendors will be educated on Clientele Supply processes and ensured delivery against budgeted plans.
  • Supplier performance issues and escalations will be supported in resolving.
  • Open two-way communication within the Clientele Supply department and with other stakeholders will be actively promoted.
  • The portfolio of suppliers supporting the business will be monitored ensuring optimal usage & performance against business expectations.
