Financial Accountant Job Description

Experience Required: 4+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably in fund accounting or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations Management
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management and investor reporting.
Taxation Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital funds.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the fund's operations and investor relations.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and tax planning.
Payroll Management (Indian Employees)
  • Oversee payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the calculation of salaries, bonuses, and deductions (e.g., Provident Fund, ESI, TDS).
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and handle all related administrative tasks.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and compliance with accounting standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools, preferably QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
