As an experienced Agricultural Commodities Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring domestic and international markets for price trends and supply-demand dynamics. Your primary responsibility will be to execute trades in physical or derivatives markets, creating and analyzing spread opportunities.

This strategic position involves developing relationships with farmers, brokers, processors, exporters, importers, and institutional clients to negotiate contracts and prices for the procurement and sale of commodities. You will analyze weather patterns, crop reports, government policies, and global trade data to inform trading strategies.

A successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities, as well as understanding of trading platforms and exchanges. Proficiency in data analysis, market intelligence tools, and Excel is also essential. Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills are required to thrive in high-pressure trading environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Monitor domestic and international markets for Agri-commodity price trends and supply-demand dynamics.
  • Trade Execution: Execute buy/sell trades in physical or derivatives markets (spot futures options) in the Domestic markets.
  • Spread Analysis: Create and analyze spread/arbitrage opportunities in domestic markets.
  • Relationship Development: Develop relationships with farmers, brokers, processors, exporters, importers, and institutional clients.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and prices for the procurement and sale of commodities.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze weather patterns, crop reports, government policies, and global trade data to inform trading strategies.
  • Logistics Management: Manage logistics, warehousing, and delivery schedules in coordination with supply chain partners.
  • Risk Mitigation: Mitigate risk using hedging strategies via commodity exchanges like NCDEX MCX and CBOT.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with trade regulations, quality standards, and documentation.
  • Reporting: Maintain trading books, daily position reports, and profitability tracking.
  • Procurement Support: Provide inputs to procurement teams on price outlook and procurement planning.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related field (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities (domestic and international).
  • Understanding: Understanding of trading platforms and exchanges (NCDEX MCX etc.).
  • Skills: Proficient in data analysis, market intelligence tools, and Excel. Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
  • Ability: Ability to thrive in high-pressure trading environments and quick decision-making.
