The Associate Dean is a key leadership role within the faculty. This position supports the Dean in managing academic, research, and extension programs.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Physiotherapy and fifteen years of experience, including five years as a Professor. A Ph.D. in any discipline of Physiotherapy and published work in peer-reviewed journals are also highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Dean and Principal in managing academic and administrative functions within the faculty or institute.
- Ensure smooth implementation of academic programs, coordinating with departments to ensure curricula are up-to-date.
- Supervise regularity of all academic sessions across constituent colleges within the faculty.
- Maintain proper decorum and quality of teaching in all classes and labs within constituent colleges under the faculty.
- Implement protocols for examinations conducted by the university in constituent colleges under the faculty.
- Assist Principals and Vice Principals in analyzing department-wise teaching load and determining need for additional teachers.
- Promote research activities within the faculty, encouraging faculty and students to engage in research projects and publish their work.
- Participate in academic committees, providing input and guidance on agenda items related to faculty.
- Ensure timely conduct of Board of Studies and Faculty Meetings, preparing and circulating proceedings in a timely manner.
- Establish connections with industry professionals, alumni, and academic partners for collaborative projects, internships, and research opportunities.
- Work closely with the Dean and IQAC to evaluate and improve academic programs in line with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
- Maintain a repository of data on faculty members, including their academic credentials, professional experience, research activities, publications, and other required information.
- Hold regular meetings with Principals and Vice Principals to identify challenges and explore solutions.
- Conduct periodic meetings with students to gather feedback on the teaching-learning process and examination conduct.
- Ensure faculty-related data is regularly updated on the university website.
- Assist Principals and Dean in preparing for scheduled visits of expert committees for inspections.
This is a key leadership role that requires strong management skills, expertise in physiotherapy, and experience in academic administration. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting excellence in education and research.
