Background

  • We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in project procurement, preferably from the wind industry.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in procurement and project management.
  • This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Procurement Head and matrixed to the Project Head.
  • Job location: Bangalore.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for site procurement activities for projects and services at multiple locations in India.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor base for spares, tools, BOP, cranes, annual maintenance contracts, part replacement, consumables, and manpower for installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Manage a team of 2 buyers for order release, follow-ups, and escalation management.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, and other terms with suppliers.
  • Track site inventory to maintain minimum stock levels.
  • Prepare cost estimates for buying plans.
  • Manage the company's supply portfolio to ensure transparency of spending.
  • Collaborate with Global Sourcing teams to drive cost reduction.
  • Work independently with stakeholders from Projects, Operation, and Maintenance, Legal, Engineering, etc. to drive initiatives and performance.
  • Develop innovative procurement strategies to reduce costs and deliver parts on time.
  • Focus on strategic actions through alternate sourcing and indigenization of key components.
  • Understand MNRE and Customs Tariff for major commodities.
  • Contract management skills.
  • Vendor development and relationship management.
  • Forecasting through market analysis and defining future-ready supply chain modules.
