Verification and Validation Specialist

We seek a Verification and Validation (V&V) Specialist with expertise in safety-critical avionics systems compliant with DO-178B/C standards. The ideal candidate will perform thorough verification and validation activities to ensure the correct functioning of software artifacts.

  • Perform requirements-based testing in compliance with DO-178B/C (Level A/B/C) standards, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation of requirements.
  • Develop test cases, test procedures, and test scripts for HSIT, SIT, and Unit Testing, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct reviews of high-level and low-level requirements for testability and traceability, maintaining clear documentation of all processes.
  • Perform code reviews, test reviews, and verification of software artifacts for correctness and completeness, providing actionable feedback to development teams.
  • Execute test scripts and analyze results to identify defects and ensure requirement compliance, applying scientific methods to complex problems.
  • Support Data Coupling and Control Coupling analysis as per DO-178B/C guidelines, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform structural coverage analysis including MC/DC and Statement/Decision coverage, optimizing testing strategies for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure full traceability from requirements through to test evidence, using rigorous methodologies to support decision-making.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with DO-178B/C compliance activities, demonstrating a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python for automated test scripting, leveraging your programming skills to drive innovation.
  • Experience with LDRA or similar software verification tools, efficiently analyzing and validating complex data.
  • Thorough understanding of HSIT/SIT/Unit Testing concepts and processes, applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools like JAMA, streamlining collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as GIT, confidently managing code repositories and resolving conflicts.
  • Experience with change management tools like JIRA, adeptly tracking and prioritizing tasks across multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies in a safety-critical project environment, seamlessly adapting to changing priorities and timelines.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science Engineering, or a related discipline, showcasing academic rigor and dedication.
  • 5+ years of experience in Verification & Validation of embedded systems/software in the aerospace domain, consistently delivering high-quality results under pressure.
