Job Title: Head of Sports

Location: International School

Position Type: Full-time

Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee our school's sports program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education, sports science or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of teaching and coaching experience.

They will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sports program that nurtures fitness, discipline, teamwork and sporting excellence.

The successful candidate will also lead the sports faculty team, coordinate school representation in inter-school and national-level tournaments, and organize school-wide sports days and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a well-structured Physical Education curriculum across all grades.
  • Monitor students' physical literacy, fitness and sportsmanship.
  • Identify and nurture talent in individual and team sports.
  • Promote values of teamwork, leadership and resilience through sports and physical activity.

Sports Program Leadership

  • Design and oversee competitive and recreational sports programs, including intra-school and inter-school events.
  • Coordinate with external coaches, trainers and sports academies to enhance student opportunities.
  • Establish pathways for students aspiring to compete at district, state, national or international levels.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment and safety standards are maintained at the highest level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related field.
  • B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed (mandatory).
  • Coaching certifications in one or more sports disciplines (preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of teaching and coaching experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an international or progressive school environment preferred.
  • Proven track record of organizing large-scale sporting events and training student athletes.
