Strategic Learning Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Learning Officer to spearhead our foundational learning strategy in India.

This role involves shaping and executing our Primary Foundational Learning strategy, identifying key grantees, and overseeing the grant portfolio.

The successful candidate will possess expertise in at least two of the following areas:

  • Primary Foundational Learning technical expertise
  • Strong networks in India with local civil society/NGO organizations and/or government
  • Experience and networks in philanthropy

While not essential, experience or expertise in gender or girl rights would be a significant advantage.

The Strategic Learning Officer will manage an existing grantee portfolio of approximately 5 organizations, growing it to 20-30 over time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a grantmaking strategy
  • External relationship-building and leadership
  • Qualifications: Over 12 years of professional experience, knowledge and expertise in the education sector, specifically Primary Foundational Learning, with a commitment to gender equity in education

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing strategic plans, administering grants, identifying high leverage opportunities, and expanding grant portfolios. Additionally, they should be able to review and provide feedback on grant proposals, write funding recommendations, represent these to the Board, act as the primary point of contact for grantees, and provide support and feedback to fellow Program Officers.
