
Financial Transactions Specialist

As a Reconciliation Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering and reconciling payments received by the revenue team. You will independently solve complex problems, integrating in-depth reconciliation knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.
You will verify, calculate, and post accounts receivable data daily. This includes monitoring and managing incoming payments to ensure timely processing.
Additionally, you will retrieve and post remittances from applicable payor websites when remittance is not available from clearinghouse.
Reviews remittances for applicable adjustments and transfers balance to secondary or patient responsibility when appropriate.
Responds to questions related to payment application and works closely with onshore team to resolve any account variances.
Researches and corrects keying errors as needed.
Documents root cause and discrepancies and generates reports based on department protocols.
Documents results of research and amends appropriate systems as required to reconcile payments.
Identifies trends in improved internal processes, systems, etc., as needed.
Ensures all workflow items are completed within set turn-around-time within quality expectations.
Reconciles payments to ensure accounting system reflects correct transactions.
Responsible for performing daily financial transactions such as verifying, calculating and posting accounts receivable data.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Relevant accounting degree with 3-7 years of experience.
- Good knowledge of technical accounting.
- Understanding of insurance accounting, basic to complex technical accounting, and working experience on reconciliation processes.
- Accounting expertise, good knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, and considerable knowledge of internal and external account audits.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and software applications and advanced financial statement preparation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and organizational skills.
- Ability to report at the right level according to requirement (headline, summary, detail).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly proficient in common business applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams.
