Job Description

As a Sales Engineer Upgrades Loads, your primary objective is to simulate site-specific benefits of our upgrade portfolio while ensuring the structural integrity (mechanical loads) of installed wind turbines.

Within a global and cross-functional team, you will serve as an interface between customers, Service regions, and headquarter functions such as Engineering Load Department, thereby directly impacting business success.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Reassess existing/planned wind farms using internal tool chains to confirm compatibility of certain upgrades and turbine-specific structural integrity.
  • Apply mechanical load mitigation strategies, run bucket approaches, assess lifetime extension possibilities, approve processes, and create reports.
  • Support upgrades sales by developing benefit calculations, driving validation campaigns, and initiating implementation.
  • Collaborate with global Service regions and after-sales colleagues to convince customers and stakeholders, facilitating successful product sales.
  • Have a measurable impact on the business performance of the global Service business unit.
  • Establish a large network within the company and industry to stay up-to-date on new technological developments.
  • Represent the team in strategic discussions and development decision meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Completed university studies in Engineering (B.E or equivalent) or Business/Economics degree with a strong technical background.
  • 5-10 years of experience in wind & site assessments, mechanical loads department, or equal technical service organizations in the wind energy industry.
  • Highly analytical with a holistic approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven, focused, and pragmatic with demonstrated ability to bring topics to success in a complex environment.
  • Optional knowledge in wind turbine technology (site assessment, wind turbine control, load calculation, aerodynamics, etc.).
  • Optional WindPRO and Python experience.
  • Fluent in English; German would be an advantage.
