Assistant Retail Store Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Assistant Retail Store Manager to support the daily operations of our retail outlet. The role involves managing sales and customer experience, supervising inventory and merchandising, and overseeing additional services such as home deliveries and spa operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer & Sales Management

    • Deliver exceptional customer service to drive store sales and customer retention.
    • Assist in handling customer queries, complaints, and escalations.
    • Support the Store Manager in achieving monthly sales targets.

  2. Inventory & Operations

    • Oversee stock levels, replenishment, and timely ordering.
    • Ensure proper inventory control and minimize shrinkage.
    • Coordinate with logistics for smooth handling of home delivery orders.

  3. Visual Merchandising

    • Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards to enhance customer experience.
    • Ensure promotional displays, signage, and in-store layouts are updated regularly.

  4. Service Management (Spa & Grooming)

    • Assist in managing spa and grooming appointments.
    • Coordinate staff scheduling and ensure quality of pet spa services.
    • Handle customer follow-ups and ensure satisfaction with spa experiences.

  5. Team Support

    • Supervise floor staff and assign daily responsibilities.
    • Support training of new employees on customer handling and store SOPs.
    • Maintain discipline, hygiene, and operational standards within the store.

Requirements:

  1. 1–3 years of experience in retail operations or store management.
  2. Strong customer service and sales orientation.
  3. Knowledge of inventory management systems and retail processes.
  4. Ability to multitask and manage both store floor and service operations.
  5. Good communication and leadership skills.

Good to Have:

  1. Prior experience in pet retail, spa, grooming, or lifestyle retail sector.
  2. Familiarity with POS systems and CRM tools.
