Job Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Transformation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for discovering and profiling data from flat files, mapping fields, documenting processes, transforming historical data, integrating with Workday Prism, validating datasets, creating reports, and ensuring compliance readiness.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in data transformation, migration, or integration, with strong hands-on experience with flat files and ETL processes. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and/or Alteryx is also required.

You will work collaboratively with Payroll SMEs and Workday teams to define transformation logic and maintain version-controlled documentation and transformation rules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Discover and profile data from flat files exported from Preceda, identifying quality issues and building a comprehensive data inventory and dictionary.
  • Map Preceda source fields to Workday Prism datasets and collaborate with Payroll SMEs and Workday teams to define transformation logic.
  • Cleanse, normalize, and format historical flat file data, automating repeatable transformation pipelines using Python, SQL, Excel, or Alteryx.
  • Assist with configuration of Prism staging datasets, defining relationships, dataset keys, and access/security parameters.
  • Reconcile Prism datasets against Preceda reports and work with Payroll SMEs to verify earnings, tax, super, and leave accuracy.
  • Support creation of historical payroll dashboards and reports in Prism and ensure alignment with ATO STP Phase 2, record-keeping laws, and audit needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5-8 years of experience in data transformation, migration, or integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with flat files (CSV, TXT, Excel) and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and/or Alteryx.
  • Experience in cross-functional project teams, preferably in payroll or HR environments.
