Job Title:

Cloud Database Specialist - MS SQL

Overview:

A seasoned database specialist will develop innovative solutions using MS SQL and Oracle on cloud platforms, leading delivery teams during client workshops and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. The specialist will work closely with clients to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client workshops to gather requirements, design database solutions, and define architecture for Oracle and MS SQL on cloud.
  • Plan, design, implement, and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3).
  • Expertise in installation, configuration, schema handling, user management, backup, and restore for MS SQL & Oracle.
  • Architect-level knowledge of server security, disaster recovery replication, high availability, failover, and replication.
  • Develop and optimize database structures to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
  • Implement tools, write scripts for automation, and perform advanced database performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge in setting up HA architectures.
  • Plan and implement backup strategies following best practices.
  • Provide integration support with third-party monitoring systems.
  • Administer Linux and Windows environments for database deployments.
  • Familiarity with Virtual Machines and container technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with JDBC connection pools and database integration preferred.
  • Use consultative techniques to engage with clients and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead solutioning for 3-tier architectures and ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Database Developer/Consultant.
  • Expert in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Excellent consulting, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a cohesive team environment.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS: Solution Architect Associate or Professional
  • Oracle: Database Administration Certified Professional, SQL Certified Associate, OCP, OCP Database Security Expert
  • Microsoft: Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate
