As a senior database administrator at an innovative technology company, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of cloud-based data platforms and ensuring seamless integration with various AWS services.

Candidates with extensive experience in database systems, including AWS Redshift, RDS, MySQL, and Snowflake, are ideal for this role.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of best practices for usability and performance of databases and exceptional communication skills to act as an advisor and mentor.

They will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, operations engineers, delivery managers, and IT teams across the organization to guarantee successful project delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering and maintaining scalable cloud environments and applications for data organization.
  • Installing and maintaining software, services, and applications by identifying system requirements.
  • Maintaining environment by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring system performance.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day database operations, deployments, and development.
  • Experienced in Snowflake, SQL, Performance tuning, Linux Shell Scripting, or Python.
  • Incident and change management, Release management, Code deployment, After hour on-call support, Testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing backups; and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  • 6 years of experience in System, platform, and AWS cloud administration.
  • 4 years of Database administration using latest AWS technologies – AWS Redshift, RDS, S3, EC2, NLB, VPC etc.
  • 2 years of Snowflake administration.
  • Experience with Agile software development using JIRA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
