Lead P&C Actuary Job

This leadership role requires a seasoned actuary to oversee a team of actuaries in multiple functional areas, including pricing, reserving, reinsurance, and capital modeling. The successful candidate will develop and implement actuarial strategies aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of actuaries across various areas (pricing, reserving, reinsurance, capital modeling, etc.).
  • Develop and implement actuarial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Advise executive leadership on product pricing, portfolio optimization, and profitability.

Pricing & Product Support:
  • Oversee development and maintenance of rating models for P&C products.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and product teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Provide actuarial input in new product development and enhancements.

Reserving & Financial Reporting:
  • Direct the preparation and analysis of loss reserves and technical provisions in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and/or Solvency II (as applicable).
  • Present reserve estimates to senior management and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators.
  • Monitor reserve adequacy and trends conduct deep-dive reviews and diagnostics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT and data teams to ensure that actuarial models and risk assessments are supported by robust digital infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with Business Units: Work closely with business development, marketing, and product teams to ensure that pricing models and risk assessments align with company objectives and customer demands.

Requirements:
  • Strong technical background in pricing, reserving, and/or capital modeling.
  • Prior experience working with regulatory frameworks such as Solvency II, IFRS 17, or RBC.
  • Advanced knowledge of actuarial software and tools.
