The primary objective of this Pharmaceutical Procurement Manager role is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply chain for pharmaceutical products in a multi-hospital setting. This involves developing and implementing a procurement strategy that optimizes medicine stock levels across all hospital locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Vendor Management:
    • Develop, implement, and manage centralized procurement strategies for pharmaceutical products.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
    • Manage vendor relationships, evaluate supplier performance, and negotiate favorable prices.
    • Conduct market analysis for competitive pricing and product availability.
    • Handle tender processes, vendor empanelment procedures, and facilitate communication between stakeholders.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
    • Oversee centralized warehouse operations for pharmaceutical storage and distribution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Implement inventory management systems to optimize stock levels, minimize wastage, and maintain accurate records.
    • Assure proper storage conditions, cold chain management, and expiry tracking for all pharmaceutical products.
    • Coordinate distribution schedules to all hospital locations based on demand forecasting and adjust accordingly.
    • Manage emergency procurement for critical medicines and ensure timely delivery to meet patient needs.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to pharmaceutical regulations, drug licensing requirements, and storage norms.
    • Maintain detailed documentation for drug procurement, storage, and distribution, adhering to industry standards.
    • Implement quality control measures for incoming pharmaceutical products, including inspection, testing, and validation.
    • Verify adherence to hospital formulary guidelines and therapeutic protocols, promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop, manage, and monitor procurement budgets across all hospital units, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    • Monitor cost optimization initiatives and report savings achieved through procurement efforts.
    • Implement payment terms and credit management with suppliers, fostering positive relationships and securing favorable agreements.
    • Prepare procurement reports and analytics for management review, providing insights into supply chain performance.
