Our organization is looking for a skilled professional to expand its Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection and API Security Controls team.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will work with global tech functions to onboard internet-facing web applications to WAF, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced security.
  • They will review logs, implement tuning, and configure web blocking to optimize application performance and security.
  • Maintaining accurate mapping of IP addresses, FQDNs, and services will be a critical aspect of this role.
  • Liaising with service owners and associated teams will be essential for gathering application data for WAF migration purposes.
  • The analyst/technologist will analyze web behavior and performance to establish acceptable application thresholds, collaborating with SMEs to inform policy decisions.
  • Policy tuning will be performed in accordance with performance baseline standards.
  • Transitioning WAF from transparent to enforcement mode will also be a key responsibility.
  • Data cleansing and validation are critical components of this role.
  • The successful candidate will participate in proof-of-concepts for new security capabilities and drive change management initiatives.
  • Incident problem management, including Root Cause Analysis, responding to incidents, and participating in postmortem analysis, will also be part of this role.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Akamai or equivalent platforms
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
