Wind Turbine Installation Site Lead

We are seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Installation Site Manager to lead our team in the execution of wind turbine projects across various locations in India.

This is a mid-to-senior level position requiring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Site Execution Management:
  • Develop location-wise work plans based on MS Project timelines and milestone status.
  • Conduct sunrise meetings to review the Plan of the Day (POD) and prerequisites.
  • Allocate daily tasks to engineers and contractors, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Maintain attendance records of contractor labour and verify skill cards.
  • Confirm material availability, report shortages, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Ensure execution aligns with design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections per the quality plan using calibrated instruments.
  • Inspect materials upon delivery in collaboration with the quality team.
  • Guide and train engineers and contractors as per standard work instructions.
  • Plan and coordinate customer inspections.
  • Ensure Work Completion Certificates (WCC) are signed post milestone completion.
  • Address queries from the commissioning team and resolve critical site issues.
• Mechanical & Technical Oversight:
  • Validate crane plans and heavy equipment routes prior to erection.
  • Approve road surveys for crane movement.
  • Lead establishment of the site repair center.
  • Ensure proper functioning and safety of lifting jigs and fixtures.
• Resource Management:
  • Track availability and usage of cranes, equipment, labour, and tools.
  • Monitor labour productivity and crane efficiency; initiate improvements.
  • Ensure contractor-supplied material meets quality standards.
  • Conduct training sessions and distribute skill cards to improve contractor performance.
  • Perform contractor assessments and assign ratings.
  • Reconcile materials issued to various site locations.
  • Monitor and control all work-related cost items.
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions, and near misses.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE plans and issue safety permits before work starts.
  • Promote safety culture via toolbox talks and onsite guidance.
  • Oversee effective waste disposal and recommend disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with SECI norms for WTG commissioning.
• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Coordinate joint inspections with customers and OMS.
  • Ensure all customer punch points and observations are resolved.
  • Facilitate HOTO by completing all deliverables.
  • Clarify queries and explain project details during customer visits.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for customer review and compliance.
• Risk Management:
  • Identify and escalate ROW and other local issues.
  • Maintain and update issue registers for closure tracking.
  • Report NCRs and assist in resolution with the quality team.
  • Participate in project change management and risk mitigation processes.
• Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead improvement projects to exceed performance goals.
  • Drive Kaizen and 3S initiatives for a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and reduce Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Support internal excellence initiatives such as ReQIE and SPHERE modules.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in wind turbine installation or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of wind turbines and associated systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other project management tools.
