The Opportunity
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and services to Teva API India organization, focusing on day-to-day legal coverage and business partnerships.
- Act as a technically excellent and proactive lawyer, creating opportunities for the business while maintaining high integrity standards.
- Serve as a legal business partner within the TAPI organization, addressing internal or external legal issues and recommending solutions.
- Research and evaluate local legislation and risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Work independently, with guidance in complex and high-risk situations.
Support Operations:
- Provide professional legal advice, support contracting, and other needed actions to operations business units in TAPI India.
- Support internal customers, including Production, Commercial Businesses, procurement, and other support functions.
- Draft contracts, formalize terms of agreement, and draft other legal documents to safeguard and promote TAPI's best interest.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes, as well as TAPI policies.
- Travel to sites within India as required.
- Instruct and manage external law firms and counsels for ongoing litigation, ensuring adherence to cost management principles.
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues/litigation.
- Conduct day-to-day legal work with integrity and responsibility.
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
- Provide legal support to corporate governance matters, such as convening Board meetings and General Meetings.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Law.
- CS qualification will be an added advantage.
- Commercial lawyer with at least 8 to 10 years of experience in business operations (law firm Associate or In-house lawyer).
- Solid commercial and contract law experience and litigation.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or medical devices or healthcare company is a big advantage.
- Knowledge and experience with Employee law-related issues will be an added advantage.
