Job Title: Director - Data Science

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Data Science to lead our AI and data initiatives. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying cutting-edge data and AI solutions that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers to develop and implement AI and data-driven models and solutions.
  • Drive the development and application of Generative AI and advanced analytics.
  • Utilize Azure technologies to build scalable, robust data infrastructure and AI systems.
  • Collaborate with the US Directors to define the AI and data strategy, setting clear deliverables and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance Manager to define Governance and security strategy.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of AI and data projects, from conception to production deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of AI and data systems in production.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in AI, data science, and related technologies, applying new knowledge to enhance team innovation.
  • Mentor and support team members, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Communicate complex AI and data strategies and results to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Science, or analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in advanced analytics, and experience with Azure technologies such as data lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, and Purview.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Data Governance, security, metadata, and data quality.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and big data technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of leading successful data and AI projects from ideation to deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in advanced analytics, Data governance, metadata management, and Data Quality.
  • Knowledge of MLOps, statistics, natural language processing, computer vision, or other specialized AI fields.
  • Experience with AI ethics and responsible AI practices along with Data Governance and security and monitoring.
