Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Strategic E-commerce Architect Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the e-commerce landscape for our clients, driving digital business transformation, and fostering collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive e-commerce strategies, leveraging expertise in Shopify Plus and other enterprise systems.
  • Leverage technical acumen to drive architecture, design, estimation, planning, and implementation of e-commerce solutions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Managers, Product Managers, and Platform Engineers to define architecture, engineering practices, and guidelines.
  • Work closely with customers to define solution architectures for e-commerce and marketplace solutions using Shopify Plus.
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications, providing solutions and recommendations for implementation.
  • Implement solutions, providing technical expertise in designing and planning e-commerce platforms.
  • Manage stakeholders to drive key decisions on tools, technologies, user journeys, and overall governance.
  • Strategize with sales prospects and existing clients on innovative technology solutions to mission-critical business needs.
  • Articulate solutions and quantify cost and timeline estimates in collaboration with other team members.
  • Drive and support business development, preparing technical responses with estimated project scope, costs, duration, and resource requirements.
  • Work closely with architects and engineering teams to define the overall IT strategy.
  • Lead the continuous implementation of new industry standards and development methodologies to increase responsiveness and growth.

Requirements

  • 8– years of experience in e-commerce development, with at least 5 years in Shopify/Shopify Plus development.
  • Proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, SEO, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with third-party apps and APIs, including payment gateways, analytics tools, and marketing platforms.
  • Experience integrating Shopify Plus with ERPs, CRMs, DAMs, and other enterprise systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solution-oriented approach to technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of global e-commerce markets and omnichannel retail solutions.
  • Shopify Plus certifications or equivalent credentials are a plus.
  • Experience in Build and Automation tools, Code Quality Plugins, CI/CD Pipelines, and Containerization platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with managing multiple teams in a matrix organization.
  • Exposure to headless architectures like Single Page Applications (SPA).
  • Experience with eCommerce, marketplaces, cloud solutions, Continuous Integration, DevOps, middleware, mobile, and content management required.
  • Experience with other enterprise eCommerce platforms like HCL Commerce, SFCC, and Adobe Commerce is an added advantage.
  • Client-facing skills, Excellent communication skills/influencing skills.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Location: Remote (with occasional travel)
