About the RoleThis Subsea Controls Engineer position plays a critical role in providing technical support and expertise to ExxonMobil's oil and gas development projects and production operations. As part of our Subsea team in ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company, you will work out of our Bangalore Campus in India.
Responsibilities- Develop and apply subsea controls design/operating criteria for various activities, developments, and operations.
- Participate in subsea project support efforts from concept evaluation and selection to commissioning and start-up.
- Evaluate strengths and shortcomings of different controls design philosophies.
- Lead revision to company standards and/or industry practices.
- Support subsea operations issue identification and resolution efforts.
- B.Tech. or M.Tech. degree in Subsea, Offshore, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation & Control, or Chemical Engineering or related disciplines with minimum GPA 7.0.
- 3 to 12 years' experience in subsea design or operations with expertise in subsea controls, topsides controls equipment (e.g., MCS, Cause & Effects, Interlocks).
- Working knowledge of subsea controls equipment, including topsides hardware/software, subsea/downhole instruments, umbilicals, and electric/hydraulic/optic distribution systems.
- Familiarity with typical equipment and component selection drivers & tradeoffs, failure modes, and demonstrated ability to diagnose problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Broad knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and related work processes.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and frequent changes in priorities.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
