Business Finance Specialist Job Description

The role of a Business Finance Specialist is to drive financial planning and analysis, variance analysis, and management reporting in a complex global business environment. This involves working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver insights that enable informed decision-making and margin improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
  • Consolidate financial data across business units and deliver forward-looking analysis.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and highlight business trends.
  • Deal Pricing & Commercial Modelling
  • Partner with sales and business teams to design, review, and validate deal structures.
  • Support pricing governance processes and ensure competitiveness while protecting margins.
  • Conduct benchmarking and scenario modelling for strategic bids.
  • Variance Analysis & Insights
  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership on revenue, costs, and margins.
  • Recommend corrective actions and support performance improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory.
  • Experience: 5+ years post-qualification in business finance, preferably in IT/ITeS or services industry.
  • Strong exposure to deal pricing, FP&A, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Proven track record of working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
