Employment Experience Investigator

Work as an investigator and decision-maker in our team, focusing on creating a positive employment experience for all employees.

This role involves:

• Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of the Amazon experience.
• Investigating multiple sources of information to reach a fair and consistent outcome.
• Analyzing data from internal systems and proposing remedial actions based on findings.
• Independently managing case work, bringing closure in a timely and definitive manner.
• Identifying issue trends, opportunities for proactive mitigation, and policy adjustments through casework analysis.
• Providing recommendations to address systemic defects.
• Earning the trust of employees for their employment experience.
• Managing difficult conversations within the organization.
• Responding quickly and accurately to employee inquiries and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.

For success in this role, the ideal candidate should have prior HR experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, able to manage competing tasks, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deep diving: Reviewing information that contributed to disciplinary action impacting employees and using investigative skills to determine if policy was applied properly and consistently based on evidence and employee/witness statements.
• Decision-making: Executing complex work that may be escalated from others, requiring independent research and interpretation of processes and policy from both internal and external sources.
• Expertise: Acting as a subject matter expert for customers, teams, and vendors, knowing and working with outside sources to develop interpretations and solutions for complex issues.
• Customer service: Interfacing with various levels of the organization to identify and resolve both internal and external gaps, responding quickly and accurately to questions from teams, internal business partners, and customers, including high-level leadership teams.
• Case management: Managing case workload ensuring services are delivered to employees and sites in a timely and defect-free manner.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• 5-7 years of overall work experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant HR experience.
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
• Experience in a call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
• Comfort with high-volume workloads, experience with rapid and complex changing work environments, willingness to 'roll up sleeves.'
• Solutions-focused and comfortable working in an environment demanding strong deliverables.
• Bias for action, stellar work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues when appropriate.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience conducting investigative work, including claimant, witness, and target employee interviews, investigative data analysis, and production of investigative documentation.
• Master's degree or MBA in HRM or other specialized training in labor/employee relations.
• Experience with the Amazon HR system.
• Experience with case management.
