Job Summary

As a regional ocean freight manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire ocean freight operations in the region.

This includes ensuring compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency while driving P&L performance for the ocean freight product in the region.

You will also develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors to secure competitive procurement rates and optimal space allocation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Manage and control all ocean freight operations (FCL, LCL, imports, exports) in the West region to ensure compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency.
  • P&L Performance: Drive P&L performance for the ocean freight product in the region, delivering on revenue, gross profit, and cost optimization targets.
  • Carrier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, NVOCCs, and vendors to secure competitive procurement rates and optimal space allocation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and account management teams to support business growth, improve customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), and expand market share in key trade lanes.
  • Regional Performance: Monitor regional performance through KPIs (transit times, documentation accuracy, operational efficiency) and take corrective action to ensure service reliability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the regional ocean operations team, ensuring engagement, capability building, and performance delivery.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is required. A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant working experience in the logistics industry in similar capacity with regional or P&L responsibilities is necessary.
