Biomedical Equipment Specialist

The role of a Biomedical Equipment Specialist is critical in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of medical equipment used for patient care. As an electro-mechanical technician, this individual is responsible for installing, inspecting, calibrating, maintaining and repairing medical equipment.

With strong technical skills in electronics and a methodical approach to problem-solving, the Biomedical Equipment Specialist must be able to work under pressure in a healthcare setting. Daily tasks include inspecting and calibrating equipment, maintaining service logs and providing field service support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: The Biomedical Equipment Specialist will be responsible for performing routine and complex troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintenance and repair of medical equipment: This involves identifying and addressing any issues that may arise with medical equipment, ensuring it continues to function optimally.
  • Perform routine and complex troubleshooting: Using technical knowledge and analytical skills, the Biomedical Equipment Specialist will identify and troubleshoot issues with medical equipment.

Requirements:

  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair skills: Strong skills in equipment maintenance and repair are essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of Medical Equipment and its operation: A thorough understanding of medical equipment and its operation is necessary for success in this position.
  • Field Service experience: Experience working in a field service environment is highly valued.
  • Military Training in relevant technical skills: Military training in relevant technical skills can be beneficial but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team: Flexibility and adaptability are key qualities for this role.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or related field: A degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics or a related field is preferred.
