We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist responsible for the procurement of all indirect materials for our operations. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient procurement processes and contributing to business goals.

Primary Objective:

  • Procure all indirect materials for our operations, adhering to established procurement practices and user requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sustain strategic sourcing of indirect commodity parts and/or services and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather accurate material/service requirements.
  • Manage bid solicitations, proposals (RFI, RFP, RFQ, RFS), and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Identify and select vendors that meet our standards.
  • Maintain an approved Vendor List for indirect materials/services.
  • Analyze and categorize spend on a monthly basis.
  • Release Purchase Orders (PO), track shipments until delivery, and liaise with logistics.
  • Implement inventory management for indirect materials.
  • Track, monitor, and achieve set department goals.
  • Monitor Premium Freight expenditure.
  • Ensure Daily Management Board updates and perform PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) activities on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain adherence to quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma initiatives as required.
  • Comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations and participate in related initiatives.

Essential Skills:

  • Substantial experience in purchasing functions.
  • Familiarity with import procedures, formalities, and local statutory levies.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Awareness of quality management systems and environmental management systems.
  • Experience with inventory management and control.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, value engineering, and reverse engineering.
