Job Role Overview

As a seasoned financial professional, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of Workday Financials implementations and support engagements. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with ERP/financials implementations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

This is a leadership-level consulting role designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects, and enjoy solving complex business problems.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in one or more Workday Financials modules, such as accounting, revenue, procurement, grants, and expenses. You will work across all phases of the Workday implementation lifecycle — from discovery and planning through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support end-to-end implementations of Workday Financials for mid-sized to large enterprise clients.
  • Facilitate discovery and planning workshops, gather and document requirements, and design scalable solutions aligned with Workday best practices.
  • Configure business processes, reports, and integrations in Workday Financials modules.
  • Perform rigorous testing and provide ongoing support throughout deployment.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in deliverables across multiple, concurrent projects.
Client Engagement
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Workday Financials, offering strategic advice and best practices to clients.
  • Interpret client requirements, propose alternative solutions, and align system configuration with business goals.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with clients through proactive communication and thought leadership.
Leadership & Mentorship
  • Guide junior consultants by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing developmental feedback.
  • Share lessons learned, implementation insights, and product knowledge across project teams and internal knowledge forums.
  • Contribute to methodology improvements and best practice documentation.
Internal Collaboration & Contribution
  • Participate in internal initiatives, training sessions, and domain-specific working groups to enhance delivery capabilities.
  • Engage with the broader Workday ecosystem, contributing to product discussions and community knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with ERP/Financials implementations.
  • Minimum 4+ years of direct experience implementing Workday Financials.
  • Deep expertise in one or more Workday Financials modules.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into system configurations.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and client-facing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple active engagements.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% depending on project needs.
  • Active Workday Financials Certification(s) required and must be maintained through ongoing recertification.
