Infrastructure Lead Role Overview

This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Wintel environment, including servers, virtualization platforms, and associated technologies.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in IT infrastructure management, with a strong focus on collaboration and vendor management.

The Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for delivering Business As Usual (BAU) services and infrastructure projects, ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient IT operations.

  • Solution design and technical governance are essential skills required for this role.
  • Patch and compliance management, lifecycle planning, and audit readiness are critical components of this position.
  • Mentoring team members, driving root cause analysis, and performance improvements are key responsibilities.
Areas Of ResponsibilityOperational Excellence
  • Managing global Wintel operations in partnership with service providers is a key responsibility.
  • Leading 24x7 BAU activities, incident response, and escalations requires hands-on technical depth.
  • Governing patch compliance, performance optimization, and infrastructure hardening is essential.
  • Reviewing, standardizing, and driving continuous improvement of operational tasks and Global Service Operational Procedures (GSOPs) are critical components.
  • Designing, managing, and performing disaster recovery (DR) for applications in line with Backup, Storage, and Application teams is a key responsibility.
Project Management & Technical Delivery
  • Leading the technical execution of infrastructure projects, including OS upgrades, migrations, and platform transitions, requires strong project management skills.
  • Architecting and implementing infrastructure solutions for new business requirements is a key responsibility.
  • Driving initiatives for virtualization, automation, capacity planning, and legacy system upgrades requires strong technical expertise.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and technical sign-off for infrastructure change implementations is essential.
  • Leading the technical governance of infrastructure changes, ensuring impact analysis, rollback plans, and CAB approvals is a key responsibility.
Governance, Compliance & Audit
  • Maintaining compliance with internal controls, GxP, and InfoSec policies is critical.
  • Conducting periodic review of end-of-life/end-of-support (EOL/EOS) platforms and defining decommission strategies is a key responsibility.
  • Tracking and resolving audit findings, documenting evidences, and supporting root cause analysis processes are essential.
People & Stakeholder Management
  • Mentoring and developing Wintel L2/L3 team members and assessing skill readiness in tower in line with service provider is a key responsibility.
  • Collaborating with application, security, and compliance teams for cross-functional initiatives requires strong stakeholder management skills.
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Governing SLAs, KPIs, and deliverables of infrastructure service partners is essential.
  • Leading operational governance meetings with service provider and tracking performance metrics is a key responsibility.
  • Reviewing contract alignment, invoicing accuracy, and resource utilization is critical.
Financials, Inventory & Risk
  • Governing asset lifecycle and Wintel server license compliance across environments is a key responsibility.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensuring accuracy for DR/BCP planning is essential.
  • Highlighting cost drivers, proposing optimization opportunities, and assisting in budget forecasting is critical.
Innovation & Strategic Planning
  • Identifying infrastructure gaps and proposing innovative solutions, including automation, is a key responsibility.
  • Driving modernization of Windows platforms and transitioning cloud environments supported is essential.
