Job Title: Platform Engineer, Enterprise Platforms, BW Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer, Enterprise Platforms, BW Developer to join our team at Astellas Pharma Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in platform development, configuration, and integration, with expertise in SAP BW/HANA and SAC.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and configure business platforms to meet the specific needs of our organization.
  2. Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems.
  3. Monitor the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
  4. Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions.
  5. Participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying specialized skills to achieve objectives and expected value.
  6. Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.
  7. Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies.
  8. Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
  9. Regularly report on the progress of various value teams and outcomes to the capability lead and team members.
  10. Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  11. Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems, or a STEM degree.
  2. Demonstrated ability to analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into basic and detailed technical design.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking, and thought leadership capabilities.
  4. Knowledge of implementation project life cycles, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, cut-over, and go-live support.
  5. At least 2 SAP end-to-end implementation experience and at least one S/4HANA implementation/upgrade experience.
  6. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at a time, with self-motivation to learn advanced technologies.
  7. Demonstrated BW and BPC experience, including experience in various data and analytics solutions based on AWS and Azure.
  8. Proven experience in implementing SAP SAC in a multinational environment.
  9. Overall, 6-8 years of experience in SAP BW/HANA/ABAP and SAC, with 3-5 years of inclusive experience in SAC, SAC Planning, S/4HANA Analytics.
  10. Experience in integrations with S4HANA and SAP BW4HANA, BW on HANA, and with non-SAP systems.
  11. 2-3 full life cycle end-to-end implementation experience with BW reporting, extraction, and modeling.
  12. Expert-level experience in SAP data warehousing solutions with SAP BW/4HANA for both modeling and scripting.
  13. Expert working experience in ABAP skills, including start, end, expert, field-level routines, custom-built extractors, and debugging skills.
  14. Experience in working with ADSOs, composite providers, BeX query, and all info providers available in SAP BW/HANA, HANA views, AMDP procedures, ABAP-OOPs, and hybrid architecture.
  15. Architectural knowledge of deployment modes of various SAP analytics solutions (Cloud, On-Premises, Hybrid).
  16. Working knowledge of connectors like SDA/SDI, exposing models or queries as OData for external consumption, and consuming external APIs into BW models.
  17. Good knowledge of the latest trends in analytics space, including platforms and solutions from other vendors.
  18. Proven work experience on mixed modeling with BW/4HANA and HANA native modeling.
  19. Hands-on experience in S/4HANA Analytics, including building and extending CDS views, creating query views, or building KPIs using KPI Modeler.
  20. Hands-on experience in advanced analytics, including predictive analytics or SAC smart features, SAC Application Designer is a plus.
  21. Knowledge of development on HANA 2.0, including HANA XSA development, NodeJS, or ABAP development, will be plus.
  22. Hands-on knowledge of related planning solutions, like BPC, will be preferred.
  23. Experience with reporting tools – SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) with live and import connection, Analysis for Office (AFO).
  24. Proven experience in working with BW models in HANA Studio, including composite providers, advanced DSOs, open ODS views.
  25. Experience in ABAP programming skills and SQL skills.
