Linux Infrastructure Specialist

Job Overview:

As a seasoned Linux infrastructure specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Red Hat OpenShift clusters. This role is ideal for individuals who possess strong technical expertise in Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters to ensure seamless operation.
  • Perform regular upgrades and patching of OCP environments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Develop and enforce robust access controls and authentication mechanisms to safeguard cluster security.
  • Create automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and deployments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the OCP environment and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations with a focus on Linux administration.
  • 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, including installation, configuration, and management.
  • Strong understanding of Linux administration principles, including user management, permissions, and system configuration.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar to automate testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker to optimize application deployment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell to automate tasks and workflows.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar to track key performance indicators and system metrics.
