About This Role

This technical professional will serve as a key member of our Process Simplification and Optimisation team, supporting the Fidelity Clearing Canada technology team in a technical support and developer capacity.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for embedding innovation across the business, maintaining consistency and standards to maximise business benefits. They will also evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Provide technical support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required.
  • Update technical documents and procedures to reflect current state.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide input on process improvements.
About You
  • Strong technical insight and experience to inform, guide, challenge and support technical decisions.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to effectively communicate technical material to non-technical users.
  • Goal-oriented and a self-starter, able to quickly learn, adapt and change to meet the needs of a changing environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in software development or support engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the brokerage securities Asset Management industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Java J2EE development, including Spring, Hibernate, MyBatis, JPA, RESTful API, and Spring Boot.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database platforms such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and database design.
