Portfolio Manager Job Description

This is a senior role that requires expertise in managing private equity funds, investor reporting, and fund performance analysis. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in financial services.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Update and manage portfolio details of various private equity funds.
  • Manage pre-defined investor-specific quarterly bespoke reporting templates.
  • Analyze PE fund performance by reviewing fund cash flows and quarterly/financial reports.
  • Analyze and calculate fund valuation data, including investment cost, realized/unrealized value, gross/net multiple, and financial KPIs such as revenue, EBITDA, net debt, and valuation/leverage multiples.
  • Track operational KPIs and update them on a quarterly basis.
  • Create/update fund track records and reconcile data using cash flow notices.
  • Calculate fund multiples and IRRs using cash flows and perform various fund analytics, including attribution and value creation analysis.
  • Reconcile portfolio-level operational data, including geographical presence, headquarters, and portfolio leverage.
  • Coordinate with teams to obtain information on time and communicate with clients regarding task status.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate or equivalent qualifications (CFA, CA, MBA, CCRA, CIIA, CAIA).
  • 1-10 years of relevant financial services experience in management reporting or operational finance, preferably with some research experience.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Power BI, and Microsoft Access is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, paying attention to detail and producing high-quality work products.
  • Experience working proactively, identifying ways to enhance processes, procedures, or outcomes that benefit the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, managing multiple details simultaneously.
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities, show initiative, and learn from experiences.
  • Solutions-focused and able to work in unstructured environments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
