Job Title: Marine Technical Purchaser
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support.
Order Processing & Coordination:
- Process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to arrange timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Monitor and control procurement budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
- Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing.
- Ensure timely clearance of invoices in the system and follow up on pending payments.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Assist during audits related to procurement and inventory management.
Technical Support & Communication:
- Closely collaborate with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
- Provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
- Keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.
Desirable Skills:
- Solid understanding of vessel maintenance and dry-docking requirements.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software.
- Experience in international logistics and customs clearance for marine spares.
