Cloud Database Architect Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Architect Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with managing Azure VM, network, and security. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications
  • Provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Designing, implementing, and monitoring HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience
  • Planning and executing robust backup and restore operations, validating recovery procedures, and ensuring compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Azure Administration
  • MS-SQL Administration
  • Upgrade, Migration, Encryption of MS-SQL Instances
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
