We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the head of our institution's School of Government.

Job Description:

  1. Develop a strategic vision for the school, defining medium and long-term academic and research direction and priorities.
  2. Provide leadership to the teaching and non-teaching staff to establish SOG as a leading school of governance.
  3. Create an environment where students can learn, thrive, and become leaders and innovators in society.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and other members of leadership to develop synergies between education, research, and service priorities across the university.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee academic programs: prepare strategic plans, continuously evaluate the vision and mission, and align institutional processes.
  • Design high-quality curriculum that meets governance needs with a global perspective and is comparable to the best in the country.
  • Lead and drive social initiatives, such as national parliaments, congresses, and awards.
  • Plan manpower needs and recruit high-calibre faculty on time to ensure effective delivery of teaching, research, and consultancy activities.
  • Foster continuous faculty development programs and optimum utilization of resources.
  • Engage with the society, alumni, and regulatory authorities to incorporate changing needs into curriculum development and compliance requirements.
  • Track legislative and policy issues, collect data, and develop strategies to inform stakeholders.

  • The ability to think strategically and deliver operationally, managing finances, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience managing complex projects.
  • Strong experience engaging with government officials and multilateral organizations.
  • A proven record as a team player and the ability to work with a large number of colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Political Science/Public Policy/Law.
  • A minimum of 15 years of academic leadership experience.
  • Age less than 50 years as on the date of appointment.
