The Role

Data visualization is the representation of data in a graph, chart, or other visual format. It communicates relationships of the data with images. Visual summaries of information make it easier to identify patterns and trends than looking through thousands of rows of data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, design, implement, and maintain BI tools schema
  • Tune, test, and troubleshoot BI solutions for performance
  • Interpret business requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Set up development environments and configure development tools
  • Manage, monitor, and ensure data security and privacy to satisfy business needs
  • Work with DBAs on data model or database changes
  • Participate in after-hours support rotation when needed
  • Communicate with project stakeholders on project progress
  • Coordinate with UAT teams

Ideal Candidate

Requirements include experience in visualization techniques, data profiling, and data validation. The ideal candidate should be proficient in advanced SQL programming concepts, have good knowledge of data warehouse concepts, and be knowledgeable in relational databases, non-relational databases, data streams, and filestores. The candidate should also have sound aptitude, outstanding logical reasoning, and analytical skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI for creating complex dashboards and reports
  • Strong skills in data modeling and building efficient data structures
  • Business acumen to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications and visual solutions
  • Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals
  • Ability to implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI
  • Experience leading a team of developers and analysts
  • Mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance
  • Strong project management skills to oversee the development lifecycle of visualization projects
