Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to join our team.

As a key member of our database development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into efficient database designs, perform data modeling, and create ER diagrams.

Additionally, you will optimize complex SQL queries, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.

In this role, you will also manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for MySQL and MS SQL, ensure database security, access control, and data integrity, handle patching, upgrades, and migrations, and troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

As a seasoned professional, you will provide technical guidance to junior developers, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

To succeed in this position, you will require a solid foundation in SQL programming, database architecture, and data integration, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to translate data requirements into efficient database designs.

  • Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.
  • Monitor database performance metrics and proactively resolve issues.
  • Manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for MySQL and MS SQL.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
  • Handle patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for system-to-system data integration.
  • Implement data warehousing solutions for reporting and analytics.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 6–7 years of proven experience as a Database Developer (MySQL & MS SQL).
  • Expert-level SQL programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale database optimization.
  • Proficiency in administration tasks (backup, recovery, security, replication).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Knowledge of additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
