Database Architecturer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to own the performance, availability and security of our growing fleet of databases.

  • Maintain, monitor, and tune production and staging MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Administer RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances.

Data Architecture & Design:

  • Work with engineering teams to model new schemas, optimize indexes, and review queries.
  • Implement and enforce best practices in database normalization, partitioning, and data lifecycle management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of DBA experience, including at least:
  • 5+ years with MSSQL Server (SQL Agent, SSIS, performance tuning).
  • 5+ years with PostgreSQL (query optimization, extensions, logical replication).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS database services: RDS, Aurora, S3, and IAM integration.
  • Solid understanding of SQL query optimization, execution plans, and troubleshooting slow queries.
  • Proven track record of managing production-grade environments with strict uptime SLAs.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
