Paediatric Oncology Nutritionist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Oncology Nutritionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the nutritional care of children with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage out-patient and in-patient care in paediatric oncology and haematology departments, ensuring comprehensive care and support for patients and their families.
  • Assess children's health and nutritional needs, using anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, and BMI, and develop individualized diet plans based on medical condition, growth, and development needs.
  • Counselling sessions for impact mapping, monitoring, evaluation, and case study development, including weekly group counselling sessions and parent support meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of paediatric oncology and nutrition, with experience working with children with cancer and other serious illnesses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Ability to assess nutritional needs and develop effective diet plans, with knowledge of current research and advancements in nutritional science.
  • Collaborative mindset, with ability to work as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
