Job Description

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing credit risk models and frameworks in an unsecured rural/semi-urban lending context. This involves creating and reviewing models to assess the likelihood of loan defaults.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to strengthen our risk framework, ensuring that policies are timely reviewed and reflect the dynamic external environment and internal risk appetite.

Additionally, this role requires analyzing industry data at scale, preparing management information systems/dashboards, and apprising senior management on changing market conditions.

  • Develop and implement credit risk models and associated frameworks in an unsecured rural/semi-urban lending context.
  • Implement and monitor credit risk strategies across the lending life cycle - acquisition, underwriting, cross-sell & collections.
  • Review portfolios on a periodic basis across various risk metrics for early warning signals and analyze portfolio trends to track portfolio quality on accepted risk parameters.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in risk management and analysis. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a Tier 1 college.
  • 3-6 years of experience in managing risk in a non-banking financial company/fintech/lending organization.
  • 2+ years of experience in Python and SQL is mandatory.
  • Excellent understanding of data and ability to bring insights.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical models.
  • Experience in microfinance/MSME lending is an added advantage.
