Internal Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Control Specialist to join our team. As an Internal Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls over financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or a related field, and will be certified as a CPA. Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, etc., are also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit and control testing: Perform control testing as part of our Control Monitoring Program to ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Accounting standards and compliance: Apply company policies, procedures, and accounting standards to evaluate risk and test internal controls.
  • Data integrity: Maintain and assure data completeness and accuracy through an understanding of key business processes and identify opportunities for best practices and improvements.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making: Determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action, and reach sound business decisions.
  • Documentation and communication: Document accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers that clearly describe review objectives, test procedures, and results, and conclusions reached utilizing internal audit methodologies, procedures, and standards.
  • Team collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Establish and maintain excellent relationships within the team and with business stakeholders, and communicate effectively with others in a positive manner.
Technical Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA required. Other certifications such as CIA, CISA, etc., are also preferred.
  • Software Skills: Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Soft Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, demonstrate strong organization skills, flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
