Database Architectural Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, installing and managing databases. They will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database performance.

We are looking for a passionate team player who builds and tunes high-performing databases, remains calm in a crisis, collaborates well, and codes automation.

  • Collaborate with other team members to manage production SQL-based and NoSQL databases.
  • Manage mission-critical high transaction rate databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup of traditional SQL databases (MySQL/Percona) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra/MongoDB).
  • Install, configure, and upgrade nodes in high availability customer production clusters.
  • Manage an international 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure powering services, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting in the production environment.
  • Contribute to evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure.
  • Develop processes, tools, and documentation in support of production operations.

Our search is focused on identifying highly skilled professionals who possess a unique blend of technical expertise, passion for innovation, and exceptional communication skills.

  • At least 7 years of experience in NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • At least 6 years of experience in traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona)
  • Experience managing Kafka message bus infrastructures is strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proven track record of leveraging these skills to evangelize technical best practices
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience required
